Hi,

I am in the process of getting my system up and running and things are going quite well so far. I just have a few questions which I hope you seasoned pros can help me with Smile

1) If I enable full screen mode from my Nvidia control panel then the video is very smooth but the video doesn't fit the entire screen of my widescreen TV and also I don't see any of the gbpvr info panels. If I disable full screen mode then everything is fine, apart from the fact that when using VMR9 custom (I installed the patch) the video breaks up when fast moving things are on the screen. I have found that using VMR7 fixes this problem, although I don't know why.....(I have a DX9 Geforce 6200 card).....I have also found that using VMR7 that the picture doesn't fill the entire screen - I get black borders.........Have I got the correct settings? Smile (I have a Haupauppage Nova-T)

2) I have a P4 system and when I put the system into standby the HDs shutdown, but the CPU fan still functions - is this correct?

3) I tried recording a programme from the TV by pressing the red record button on my Hauppage remote, everything was fine, but I tried to stop the recording by pressing the stop button, but gbpvr still reported that the prog was still recording (and also the record service)....?

Thanks for your help Smile

your (2) My new system is the same !!! It only goes into S1 not S3
Check your BIOS for powersaving options. I'm now having to use hibernate instead.

I put a support call into the motherboard maker but got back the response:-

Dear Mr. Taylor,
Thanks for contacting ECS.
The P23G(3.0) does not support "S3".

Best regards,
Support_TPE

So I won't be buying anything off that lot anymore.

Did you try different outputs from your properties panel for the video card ?

what did you set the video card resolution to ?
what tv standard did you use ?
(2 different settings within the properties)

I would say you have set the resolution to high this is what i was trying to stop you doing in the last post but someone else buted in and said you have to set it to 720x576 im guessing try setting it lower

This is only the output to the screen not waht you are recording in so its what ever works foir you sreen

Once you have that close

Adjust the screen size in the main config file (back it up first just make a copy past it somewhere)

!-- zoom control -->
<HorizontalZoom>1.05</HorizontalZoom>
<HorizontalOffset>0</HorizontalOffset>
<VerticalZoom>1.05 </VerticalZoom>
<VerticalOffset>0</VerticalOffset>
<!-- overscan control (border size in pixels) -->
<OverScanBorderX1>35</OverScanBorderX1>
<OverScanBorderY1>20</OverScanBorderY1>
<OverScanBorderX2>35</OverScanBorderX2>
<OverScanBorderY2>20 </OverScanBorderY2>
<OverScanVideoAlso>true</OverScanVideoAlso>
<!-- Aspect Ratio settings -->
<TvShape>16x9</TvShape>
<AspectRatioModes>
<AspectRatioMode name="custom" ratio="0.06,0,0.94,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="custom1" ratio="0.04,0,0.96,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="custom2" ratio="0.02,0,0.98,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Fill" ratio="0,0,1,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Auto" ratio="0,0,0,0" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox" ratio="0,0.125,1,0.875" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox" ratio="0,0.098,1,0.875" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox1" ratio="0,0.07,1,0.875" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox2" ratio="0,0.04,1,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox3" ratio="0,0.02,1,1" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Remove LetterBox" ratio="0,-0.125,1,1.125" />
<AspectRatioMode name="Center Cut" ratio="-0.05,-0.17,1.04,1.17" />
<AspectRatioMode name="PillarBox" ratio="0.04,0,0.96,1" />
</AspectRatioModes>

Here is what my settings are you could either compare to yours or past these in may work may not (make sure you back up first)

The over scan ones are what will make your screen fit so start adjusting
