Hi,

sorry if this where asked before, didnt find it by doing a search.

I have a multi tuner setup but it seems that the my mdplugin only is called with the first record that simultaneously startet.
IE. if I start watching tuner one and a little later starting record with another tuner the mdplugin seems not to be activated for that later record.

Is there a way to use one instance of that mdplugin per tuner or else to "bind" the plugin at one specific source (tuner) ?

thnx

There is a limitation in the third party multidec component that we use where it only supports on instance per process. Hopefully we'll find some solution in the future.

No, unfortunately not.

Couldn't you "just" disable the non-free-to-air channels in all but one (preferably the first) capture sources?
I'm not always right

Unfortunately it doesnt work like that. It has to decide whether or not to use multidec long before it knows what channel you're going to be watching (ie, it doesnt know if you're going start watching tv on a tuner's free to air channel, then later switch to an encrypted one). What happens is that the first graph used at any one time will get the multidec filter, and the others wont.

In my setup its more strait foreward:

-tuner one never needs the filter,
-tuner two sometimes need it,
-tuner three never.

I could very easy live with the limitation that I couldnt switch to a encrypted channel from life-tv (In fact I had to press Stop, change the channel from within the EPG and press Start).
In the current situation its disappointing: If I watch some fta channel (tuner one) than I cant record non fta channels (tuner two). If there is some record in progress (tuner three), I cant watch non FTA channels. So most of the time the filter doesnt do its job.

If only the second tuner-source would have the filter in its path (and no other source) everything would be fine.

Development on the multidec plugin GB-PVR uses seems to have started again recently (when Agarwal's made his directshow filter open source at http://sourceforge.net/projects/mdapifilter). The next release of GB-PVR has a minor tweak that enables these newer versions to be used, so hopefully in the near future this limitation on number of instances will be resolved.
