Once again, beautiful work sub. The only thing i have run into, however, is that all of my shows recorded in Hi Def on the HDHomeRun are now choppy during playback. Playback was flawless on all recordings in 99.12. I was previously using VMR9. Ive tried VMR9 Custom, VMR FSE, and Overlay....all with choppy playback.

Playback in WMP is fine. All recordings are in the DVR-MS format. I have been using the Nvidia Purevideo audio/video decoders. Any ideas? Ive checked my CPU loads and during playback im not hitting over 15-20%. I love the interface so id hate to have to revert.

Oh and I have the same playback issues if i use the GBPVR.exe or the PVRx2.exe.

Try a clean install. I had that happen after an update once. Nvr found another way to fix.

will give that a shot. i was hoping to avoid that to avoid reconfiguring everything on my HDHomeruns but might as well give it a go.

btw, forgot to include my logs last time so.

Okay update. Prior to doing a full reinstall i thought id try out a few more things. In delving into the settings, turns out that GBPVR is no longer recognizing my 2 HDHOMERUN tuners. When i go into settings under the BDA recording setting, it shows up the default first thing on the BDA list (Hauppage DVB-S i think). i point out to locate only those on my machine and it says i dont have any. I went in to check the BDA.ini and it turns out it has been replaced and my previous entry for the HDHomeRun is gone.

I don't think this would have anything to do with the stuttering issues i was having but is something i would think is important.

As for the stuttering. I uninstalled GB, cleaned out the directory, rebooted, reinstalled the C++ update, and installed 1.08 and am still getting the poor playback of HiDef. playback continues to be okay on WMP. I cant think of anything else. At this point im just hoping that i'll be able to get 99.12 back up with smooth playback if nothing works out.

You're not running on a second monitor?

Also worth trying to run PVRX2.exe with the "-fse" parameter.

Not running things on the second monitor. I actually already started trying 1.08 with an additional wipe/rewipe of things....rebooting along the way. Once i complete ill give an update.

as for the -fse, is that just placed at the end of the parameter string in properties? I find it weird that i would need it unless something changed in the directshow feed. I had to use the fse back when i was using nvidia due to tearing, but moved to an ati card to get problem free vmr9.

could it have anything to do with the visual c++ patch?

PVRX2.exe -fse

GBPVR.exe had a wider choice of renderers. PVRX2.exe is always either using VMR9 Custom, or VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive, since it needs to be able to mix video with the new Direct3D based interface. Regular VMR7/VMR9/Overlay are not possible in PVRX2.

With these two renderers video is displayed using the Direct3D features of your video card, so it can easily be different that your past experiences with non-Direct3D renderers.

No, unlikely. It'll something decoder/videocard/render related.

Hi there, I'm having the same problem. Overlay allowed for smooth HD playback, but the vmr9 causes the video to play slow, then regular, then fast, over and over. I've read that vmr9 needs a really good processor. I'm not sure, I couldn't really find anything definitive on vmr9 system requirements.

I have:

HVR-1600 Tuner
Radeon X1300 PCI GFX
Celeron D 478 2.66ghz CPU

Is that too weak to handle vmr9? It's ok if it's not, I can live with the old style layout. Functionality is more important for me than looks. Smile

Edit: 720p plays fine, just not 1080i.

With my system, backed with a basic dual core processor, 1gb ram and an x1650pro was able to do 1080p output fine without stutter in VMR9 in 99.12. Right now i am pulling my hair out on how to get things up and going. I have tried every decoder i could find in every combination, ive tried reinstalls, and i still cant get smooth playback. I really love the new interface but i see not much other choice.
