I have the Avermedia M780... used to have the ATI Theater 550 Pro. Going to 1.16 I re-installed everything (drivers and GBPVR) and now everything works in analog cable. I do not yet have my OTA indoor antenna, so I cant test out QAM. I will by next week.

My problem is that the picture is grainy, and even weirder is that the OSD, guide and all GBPVR menus and text are jagged. Anyone know what settings I may be missing? Ive been using GBPVR versions for quite a while, and I never had to set anything that would effect either the picture or the OSD quality.

Thanks,
MK

PS: my setup is the M780 on vista, opteron 2.2Ghz Dual Core, 2Gb Ram, with 1.16 with no plugins. I have the most up to date Avermedia drivers and application installed.

Can you post a screenshot?

Are you using the old GBPVR.exe interface or the new PVRX2.exe interface?

What resolution is your desktop running, and what video card do you have?

If you press Alt-Enter to switch to fullscreen mode, is the text smooth, or still jagged?

I run a dual screen setup... extended desktop. My primary monitor is a 1920x1200 desktop, and the other is 640x480 TV. I'm running an Asus 6600GT. I have 162.22 forceware installed.

The problem is in both gbpvr and pvrx2. It happens even when i run video inside the application. I attached two more pics of gbpvr and running a divx file inside it.

Full screen the jaggies are the same.

I'm not surprised GBPVR.exe looks like this. It always renders to 720x480, then stretches to fill the screen, which looks ugly on high resolution screens - particularly on LCD screens.

When it comes to PVRX2.exe, it should render to the native resolution of the screen its on. In your case I'm guessing something is confused and its rendering to the 640x480 resolution used by your TV, but showing on your 1920x1200...ie, same stretching problem as described above about GBPVR.exe.

When you go into your display settings, is the second monitor (the tv) on the right of your primary monitor? It should be.

Assuming your second monitor is on the right, try this: Go into the config app, and uncheck the 'start in window mode' setting, and uncheck the 'start on second monitor' setting. Now when you start the application it should automatically start fullscreen on the primary monitor? It should look crisp with high quality text.
