Hi,

Just upgraded from 1.0.8 and now I can't start PVRX2. I get the error "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render."

Is this really a requirement now in 1.0.16? Before I was able to set the Video Renderer to Overlay Manager, which is still an option in 16, and everything was happy.

Any work arounds? Is there a better way to start the gui interface now? I assumed it was just right click on the system tray and Start PVRX2 because that command was where Start GBPVR used to be.

Thanks!

You do need it, the new PVRX2 interface only uses VMR9, you can still change it in the config but that applies to the "old" gbpvr UI, (witch can still be used).

autostart at system startup perhaps ?
r-click system icon is a (other) way to start the pvrx2 UI

PVRX2 interface is based on Direct3D and requires VMR9. The same was true of 1.0.8.

Thanks for the information. I'm being stupid this morning because I'm doing 5 things at once.

How do I tell it to use the old interface?

Thanks!

Oh, good Lord I'm a moron. I'm so used to doing everything through the system tray icon that I didn't look in the program folder in the start menu.

D'oh.

The old GUI is a life saver. I often try to set up recording remotely using LOGMEIN. When using LOGMEIN, the VRM9 renderer is not available and the new GUI will not run. I kept setting the Config to Overlay Manager, but it still did not work. Now with the old GUI, I can once again setup recording remotely with LOGMEIN!

Dont get too attached to it. It'll only be included with release for a little while longer. Eventually I'll only distribute the PVRX2 interface.

Well, I don't like that idea. I run GBPVR on a server with a integrated video card (Intel G3100). This card doesn't offer Direct3D so I can't run GBPVR, unless I use the overlay or VMR7 mode.

Unfortunately leaving it hanging around causes a lot of hassles, limiting what changes I can make in the shared DLLs without doing double maintenance in both apps. I'm already putting off quite a few changes until after I no longer have to worry about including GBPVR.exe in the install.

If it was just a matter of leaving the old GBPVR.exe in the install then I'd have no problems leaving it there for quite a bit longer, but it's not that simple.
