1.0.16 problems

Hello,

I just installed 1.0.16 from .99 or whatever. I have some questions:

1. how do I search for shows? I cant seem to locate the search box anywhere.

2. My live TV has sound but no video. Any idea why not? WinTV2000 shows video and sound.

If you press the Guide button on your remote, or F1 key on keyboard, you'll be taken to the TV Guide screen. Press it again and you'll see the search popup.

What video decoder do you have selected on the playback tab of the config app? 'system default' is not a good idea, and the intervideo decoder can have problems with the VMR9 Custome renderer. If you dont have other decoders available, try: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm

Can help on one of two items. To search, when you are viewing the TV guide, press 'Guide' again.

Either 'Guide' on the Hauppauge remote or F1 on the keyboard.

a few suggestions on the user-friendly aspect of this program:

1. The scrolling menu with fade it pretty silly and not fun to use
2. The search feature is so hidden, I cant imagine anyone would ever figure out how to hit F1 to get the search box

GBPVR seems to be going backward as far as GUI is concerned. I love the program, but please consider my feedback.

I have to agree with this. Other PVRs use this, and I've always found it to be a triumph of flash over usability. It's one thing I like about GBPVR, you can see what option you're moving to before you get there, and know how many times you need to hit the up or down button. I do like the crispness of the text and images in the new interface, though.

I also hope you'll keep the old TV Preview Guide option; it's nice to be able to see, not only what's on, but what's coming up as well.
