Subtitles with NZ Freeview + other subtitle stuff

Sorry there's probably a million questions about this, but as usual on a forum there's not a lot of info in one place:

1 - what format do you need to record into get subtitles recording? I used to record in TS, but it didn't seem to record them.

2 - Can someone point me in the right place to some sort of way to get the subtitles to match up once ads have removed from a program?

For those that don't know, NZ freeview over DVB-S now seems to be able to record subtitles. I had them working before, but can't remember what setting I was using.

Oh yeah, to add to this. Can someone either note or direct me to what formats will record embedded subtitles within the file or to an external file?

The only way you'll get subtitles recorded is by enabling teletext and entering the appropriate page numbers against each channel, and enabling the SRT subtitle recording. These will create a separate SRT file. The subtitles will not be embedded in the file.

The is no built in logic in GB-PVR for cutting the ads out of a recording. If you create some process for doing this, you'd also have to take care of retiming the SRT file yourself.
