I am currently running v1.0.16. When I built the pvr over a year ago, I noticed that everything worked fine with VMR9 except I could not see the DVD menu highlights. The server has an ATI X700 Pro video adapter, and I am running the fairly current version of the ATI Catalyst drivers. I've updated the ATI drivers several time, and I have used the Omega drivers at various times as well. I am also using the retail Intervideo codec. The results were/are always the same. When I was running GBPVR.exe, I just set the video renderer to Overlay and the DVD menu highlights were available. Now that I'm using PVRX2.exe, the DVD menu highlights are gone. I believe that I read somewhere on the forum that the new UI has to use VMR9. Does anyone know how I can get the menu highlights to work. It's kind of frustrating when you don't know what option you are selectiong. The WAF is down a little.

Thanks,
Daris

I did a search on "dvd menu highlight" and found something in a post about setting the DVD Playback Navigator to "InterVideo Navigator". My system was sent to DVD Navigator. I changed it to InterVideo, restarted and tested. This time the screen went black when it got to the menu on the DVD. I could see the preview before the menu and hear the audio for the menu, but was looking at a black screen.

I had the same problem using Intervideo WinDVD decoders in VMR9, custom, and FSE. I downloaded the trial version of Nvidia Purevideo decoder and the menu highlights now work - but I then had a new problem in that I got no audio! To get it working I had to leave DVD video decoder as Nvidia but change DVD audio decoder to FFdshow. Perhaps Intvervideo audio may also work...
It does seem that intervideo DVD decoder does not work correctly with GBPVR or PVRX2 using VMR. Apart from Purevideo maybe Cyberlink DVD decoders maybe worth a try.
BTW I don't know why people rave about Purevideo - the picture looks no better then Intervideo to me most of the time, and the rest of the time I think it looks worse!

Thanks for the reply and info. I saw another post where Sub said that they Cyberlink codec worked well. I'm hoping someone will chime in on that one.

Don't forget the Nvidia purevideo decoder works just as well with ATI cards as Nvidia cards....

UPDATE: The problem of the DVD picture not displaying in GBPVR, if the Nvidia video & audio decoders are selected in the DVD & remote page of config, only seems to be an issue with the trial version of Purevideo. Once I installed the full version all works well now, and I can see the menu highlights in VMR9 /FSE.

The Cyberlink codecs work fine. I only had the problem you describe when using the Intervideo codecs.

It does not for my nVidia 6150. I get the same problem. Highlights work with the CyberLink decoder, but the video has a stutter in my case. I get the best results with the MPV Decoder Filter.

Resurrecting a thread from last month but anybody got a solution for this lack of DVD Menu highlights. I'm seeing it as well and find it very annoying to have to guess which menu item you selecting when playing a DVD!

Using GB-PVR 1.1.5 & Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 codecs on Vista 32 with ATI 7.11.

I've tried:
GBPVR & PVRX2 exes
DVD Navigator & Cyberlink Navigator - the latter gives black screen only.
Overlay, VMR7, VMR9 (&Custom) & EVR

If I play the DVDs through PowerDVD instead then it all works fine.

Any ideas? Thanks

I've solved that problem by using the MPV Decoder (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm) instead of the PureVideo one.
