Hello,

First of all I read the survival guide and did the patches.

I got a trial account on SchedulingDirect.com and used my username (not my e-mail address) and password. As soon as I hit "Updat EPG" I get the following error:

Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG Source Settings and try again.

System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

then a bunch of other stuff....

any idea what went wrong?

Thanks!

Did you set up a lineup?
sub Wrote:That "(500) internal server error" is an error occuring on the listings server on the other side of the internet. This specific error is usually caused by the user not having added a lineup on http://www.schedulesdirect.org, or maybe not any channels enabled in that lineup. So head over to http://www.schedulesdirect.org and check your account lineup as a first step.

Are you sure it's a 500 error?

yeah after I scheduled a lineup I got a 403 error, and I just needed to add my email and password again.

By the way I tried the hack suggested at:

http://zap2xml.110mb.com/

And this does the same thing, yet is free. I just scheduled a task to run it everyday and there is no need to pay money for EPG.

No, it doesn't do the same thing. It is just another web scraper, except it is tied to your tvlistings.com account. (Yes, I have one.)

If it works for you then enjoy it! Hopefully zap2it.com won't change any of their HTML.

And how is a web scraper any different? The EPG results are the same, period. Right? using web scrapers with XMLTV is a free alternative, and once you set it up, it requires no manual work, unlike zap2it which made us re-register every so many months.

Yeah, it'll work.....right up to the time zap2it changes one thing in their html that breaks the scraper. Then you need to wait for someone to make a fix, if possible, to get around the change.
