No idea how I can reproduce this but this is what happened (and nothing in the logs I could see indicates anything).

Set pvrx2 to record a show at 2:30am (from the guide). When I got up to look at it (World Cup Rugby for the Kiwi's in the BBS) the recording hadn't happened. And no file on the drive named Rugby World Cup etc. Pretty disappointed of course.

Then the next day was in PVRX2 and under recordings selected Whats New. And a show turned up I know I hadn't recorded (a children's show on a different channel). But looking at the time of the show, it was the same as the rugby I had tried to record. Viewing the show confirmed this.

So this is strange

1. I selected a programme to record using the guide
2. PVRX2 recorded the show (right channel and time) but gave it a different name from a show on a different channel and quite different time!

Perhaps my guide database is all messed up?

Any ideas sub?

Thanks

Larry

Nothing springs to mind, but if you can post the logs including the time of the recording, then I'll take a look.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I have exactly the same problem. In the guide, I set to record "The War: When Things Get Tough" on WMHT Channel 11 on 9/24/07 from 8-10 pm. Pending recordings showed me recording "My Cousin Vinny" on 5MAX Channel 731 on 9/24/07 from 8-10 pm. In spite of this entry, it recorded the correct program, "The War" from the correct channel, but has labeled it incorrectly as "My Cousin Vinny."

The wierd thing is that "My Cousin Vinny" didn't show on 9/24/07 at 8 pm on any channel. The only time I see it on the guide on Channel 731 is 9/25/07 from 9-11 pm.

Checked my system to be sure it is set for the correct date and time. I'm in Eastern time zone GMT
-5:00 if that's relevant.

I've attached all my logs covering that time period.

In the mean time, is there a way to manually edit the title and description in the recording list so that I can find the file properly when I want it later?

Thanks, sub, for all your hard work!

Somewhat of a similar problem here. I set up a recurring recording from the guide - (record all shows on one channel at time slot selected - can't remember exact phrasing and I am at work now). The recording was set for 11:00 - 12:30 PM on ESPN. In Pending recordings, it shows the upcoming recording properly, but if I go to the "Recurring" option, something totally different is shown. It is the right channel, but the wrong time slot and instead of 1.5 hours, it is set for 2.5 hours.

The recording did go through properly with the right name. I'm using Schedules Direct and version 1.0.16 of GBPVR (PVRX2.exe).

I noticed the same thing this morning. Sunday I set up a recurring recording for The War @8pm-10pm on Ch64. At 10pm Sunday I looked and nothing recorded so I deleted the recurring recording and reset it to record recurring @11pm-1am on a west coast channel. Last night I noticed that it was recording The War @ 8pm instead of 11pm on the original channel. Not wanting to mess with this I left it alone and checked this morning and found 3 recurring recordings for The War , 2 of which failed and the time for the recording showed Ch64 8:00 to 12:30 (s/B 8:00 to 10:00) so the West coast 11:00 to 1:00 recording also failed. This has happed twice in the past 2 weeks. You set a recurring recording, it doesn't record so you reset it and the next day you have 2 recurring? I'm still using GBPVR.exe on 1.0.16 FYI and Schedules direct.

OK - the only log I can find is this one.

If you look at around here

2007-09-24 02:27:00.093 INFO [5] Found new programme requiring recording: Blue's Clues
2007-09-24 02:27:00.093 VERBOSE [5] Changing to channel (GBPVR.Backend.Common.USBUIRTTunerController): 3

2007-09-24 02:27:02.515 VERBOSE [5] Save(): Updated existing scheduled recording

you can see that pvrx2 thought there was programme to record called Blues Clues and sent the channel change to channel 3. But in fact Blues Clues wasn't on at that time and it is on Channel 2. If you look at the filename pvxr2 assigned the time part of the name _08500915 seems to indicate 815am but the time the recording started was 2:27am.

In fact what was recorded was a show on Channel 3 starting at 2.27am but with the name of a show on a different channel and time.

Not sure this helps to debug the problem but it does demonstrate the symptom

Thanks

This is such a simple piece of code, that hasnt changed in over three years, so I doubt there is some error that causes the wrong channel number to be sent. I suspect if you looked really carefully at the channel numbers in all your capture source channel lists that you'd find an incorrect channel number or something similiar.

I'm happy to take a look at your database when I get back to see how this could happen.

Sub,

Would it be better to delete all our capture sources and rebuild them? My similair problem only started after the switch to SD so maybe somewhere there are channels from Zap2It still mapped somehow in the Db?

I've fixed the problem. It was as sub suggested: channels left over from zap2it listings.

I exported the recording list to back it up. Then I deleted the capture source and found about 15 channels left on the channels tab even though the recording source was empty. Deleted the gbpvr.db3 file and the extra channels disappeared. Set up the capture source again, updated the EPG, and reimported my recordings.

Then tested it by scheduling a bunch of recordings. All the scheduled recordings are listed by the right names and channels. Of course the previously recorded shows are still listed incorrectly, but I can delete them and pick them up from repeats.

I'm having this problem too. It just seemed to pop up recently. I recorded a game today and the title placed on it was 3 hrs of Hogan Knows Best. Just seems strange that everything would work so well and then for no reason start to mess up this one part of the process. I also tried replacing the db and resetting up capture sources and switching to SD for listings. It seemed to help on a few test recordings yesterday but now, today, it's doing it again.
