I've installed gbpvr on my laptop which is running vista. I want to watch my recorded tv shows (from my desktop). I just pointed the video library to the shared recordings directory on my laptop. I'm using the purevideo decoder. When I watch any recorded videos through the windows media player (or center) the videos stream perfectly fine. When I watch them through gbpvr they are very choppy. I dont think the problem lies with the decoder because I can copy the files to my laptop and they play fine.
I have not tried the streaming options because before I get fancy, I thought that trying to get the easy method to work first would be a good idea.

GB-PVR's requires quite a bit of bandwidth for it's streaming option, or playing an in-progress recording, or live tv. Probably more than you have available via your wireless connection.

The filesharing option may work better for you. Again though, plauing in progress recordings or live tv maybe more problematic.

Yeah I'm trying to use teh filesharing option. But it doesnt work in the gbpvr interface. It's really choppy.
It works fine when I play the file in wmp.

Sorry, there isnt really much advice I can provide. I can only guess its not managing to find enough bandwidth for the way the directshow filters are trying to access the underlying file.

I dont use wireless here so it's not something I test against.
