It seems that my channel tuning is slightly off. Only change was an upgrade to the video card. I get a green vertical band on the LiveTV feed and the colorization is off in general. However, the Tuning assistant displays perfectly as does using the DScaler app with the tuner as the input.

I tried updated to the new version, but I'm thinking perhaps the channel designations from SD is off from my local service? Is there a way to change the tuning frequency manually?

Thanks!

i would have thought it would be more to do with the drivers for you video card
more specifically the 3d directx part
what happens if you use media player to playback the same file if you do a recording

im only saying this if you had a good picture from your tuner card before you loaded the new video card

Here's a screen of the issue. Although I couldn't getting anything to screen grab from the other apps, I can assure you that the tuning assistant looks fine and I'm watching TV on DScaler with no issues atm (using it's auto-scan for channels, not EPG data). No issues with media player either.

An interesting note, I tried to pause GBPVR to make a screen capture, and all that it would display was a black screen. Could also not get back to "real time". I don't have any recordings atm as I've only been using the unit for LiveTV.

Thanks!

try using gbpvr.exe and see what you get using overlay then try it with vmr then vmr custom
what decoder are you using aswell?
im still thinking its your hardware/video card
to do with directx (how its written to the screen)

what happens if you play a recording back in gbpvr or a mpeg that you know played ok before the upgrade ?

edit sorry missed the bit about no recordings yet
the best thing you can do is record something then play it back in another player that will tell you if it is the tuner or the play back

Using gbpvr.exe, same issue with Overlay and VMR. No issues playing back an mpeg from within gbpvr however.

ok i must be wrong sorry
i cant see why changing your video card screwed up your tunner settings
check that you have your tuner card set to the right country (as in make sure its ntsc not pal)
and then you can add frequencies instead of numbers
so use the tunning assistant to get the frequency then enter that under edit in the tuner section

Interestingly enough it doesn't seem to matter if I manually enter the tuning values, I still get ghosting and the green bars.
Also of note, the bars are present even while changing channels, ie: before the new channel has tuned in. Would that point to something software side?

you need to record something from it
then watch it
watching live is to hard to work out whats do what
you need to determine if its recording ok or not

Alright, had a chance to try a recording. The green bars/color ghosting is present in the recording as well. It is also present when played back directly in WMP. However, the video is fine if I play the recording back in DScaler. So I'm guessing there is some conflict with DirectShow? Non-recorded content plays fine in GBPVR and WMP. Where do I go from here...?
