I found it had trouble looking for devices on my machine. Just select either Hauppauge Win TV Nova-T PCI 9009 or 902 and then try a scan.

If you have a really old nova-t then its more than likely you don't have bda drivers and instead using the wdm drivers. The old nova-t was a technotrend re-brand, do a search for technotrend nova-t drivers on google.

Have you clicked "map digital channels to EPG"?

Can you run the filtercheck.exe utility in the GB-PVR directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log it creates?

Also worth trying wintv which came with the hauppauge drivers to check it is scanning the channels in that. Assuming it is, and least that helps narrow the problem.

You may get the infamous hauppague scanning bug when doing the above, where wintv channel scanner immediately crashes when trying to scan. If you do report back and I'll find the link to fix it.

Hi there Smile

I also have a Nova-T PCI, and I'm running the latest Hauppauge CD driver set 4.0 in my Windows Vista. My card runs OK in MediaCenter, MediaPortal etc...but I'm not able to choose the card in the config. program for GB-PVR...

How does one get a Nova-T PCI (it's a Hauppauge DVB-T card) into the list?

When you create you capture source and set the recording source to the 'BDA Recording Source', then click settings, then tick the 'only show devices detected in this machine' checkbox, what cards does it list?

It's listed as a Hauppauge Nova-S (it also detects HVR-3000 and HVR-4000. with the "only show devices..." option), despite that I don't have these cards in my PC - and I've never had those cards. And the GB-PVR application is also able to use it, thanks to your help above :-) It's the "tuning assistant" application which doesn't have it in it's list.

Subtitles etc.
Now being able to use the program, I've noticed a few other things...
1: why can't one chose any other language than English, when selecting either "primary subtitle language" or "secondary subtitle language"?
2: even if GB-PVR is set to use non-windowed mode, I can still see the entire task bar?
3: if GB-PVR crashes, it then tells me that I don't have any available recording devices/sources (unsure of translation). I then start MCE in Vista, and then all is well again. Shouldn't GB-PVR be able to restart the same devices?
4: In the setup program, I have enabled Teletext. Yet, nothing happens when I click the teletext button on my MCE remote...
5: I have also enabled DVB subtitles - but I have yet to see them. Here in Denmark, we have DVB-subtitles coming to us as a data stream, not hardcoded or via teletext.
6: some times, when I save the settings in the config. program, I'm told that "GB-PVR is currently recording"...even if it isn't (have yet to start/schedule any recording...and there's no HD activity to indicate any recording).

GB-PVR is a free program, and I can't thank you enough for putting a lot of time and energy into this. Thanks for making an effort for us penny-less home-dads Smile
