Hi,

I have been using gbpvr for quite a while successfully.
What I used to do is I had a pvr 150 for recieving signal from the STB and ir blaster and a pvr 350 which provided me with a video output for a regular small tv.
So now I have decided to buy a widescreen monitor to use as a tv and a new video card and generally update my pvr machine a little, which I did.
So now I have a 150 as my tuner card and a hd2400pro (factory overclocked) as an output device for the monitor/tv.

Naturally I wanted to take advantage of the all new features so I have downloaded the latest GBPVR version(I have been using one about half a year old)

I also updated the pvr 150 drivers to the latest and installed vista 32.
So after the whole set up I have the channels now and can watch and switch them etc.
However when I try to pause the screen goes black for a sec or two, then gbpvr interface shows up appearing to be paused (still black picture). Now when I click play again the application just crashes back to the main menu of PVRX2.

I am attaching the three log files that change after crash.

Thank you for the great software Sub. It has been serving me great for a while and hopefully will again Smile

Nothing springs to mind.

I notice you were using live tv at the time. Does it also do this on playback of an existing recording?

Have you tried a different combination of audio/video decoder?

Well I solved. I was using pretty stadard config. vmr9 fullscreen renderer and intervideo decoder (nonCSS). A for if it did the same with recordings I don't know since it was a new install and it didnt let me record anything.

So if anyone is interested or have the same issue here it goes:

I looked through logs and found that the device kept getting lost when I resume playing after pausing. What was happening is the ATi control center was somehow stealing my hd2400's focus ( i never install that thing in the first place and one time I did install it screwed things upSmile)

So if someone has the same issue go through your programs list and see if any program has something to do with video and if its running at the same time as gbpvr cause it might be stealing your video card's attentionSmile

I got my ATI HD 2600 Pro installed a few days ago, and it seems to be working pretty well for me so far. It did great things to the CPU usage when trying to watch the HDTV trials that started a week or two ago.

Running my original setup, AMD X2 4400+ CPU and nvidia 7600GS video card, I was getting nearlying constant 100% CPU usage trying to view these high def tests, with a bit of stuttering.

When I installed my ATI HD 2600pro video card, and when using it with the EVR video renderer on Vista (for DVXA 2.0), I'm now getting a low 5% CPU usage and smooth video. Thats quite a difference.

It does MPEG2 HD acceleration. It supposedly is also capable of doing H.264 acceleration but it is disabled in the AGP drivers. Grrrrr.

I've got several machines, with mix of different video card (ATI 9250, ATI HD 2600 Pro, Nvidia 6200, Nvidia 7600 and a couple of onboard video machines). The 2600 seems to pretty smooth for me so far - but I'm using EVR on Vista. I'm just about to replace my AGP development machine with a PCIe one, and will move to a PCIe version of the 2600 Pro.

So I believed I have solved it...I guess not.
I had to resintrall Vista and after reinstall the only programs that are on my pc are GBPVR and WinTV with all the ir blaster stuff.

Whenever I try to pause live video GBPVR exits to main menu. Or if live preview is disabled (like I usually have it) it flashes a black screen and returns to the menu.

I tried a lot of different decoders it didnt seem to make a difference. I stopped at MPV decoder.

I have also tried all the renderers. When VMR9 is enabled I get
Error code : 88760868
D3DERR_DEVICELOST
Device lost

in the logs. When EVR is enabled I get

2007-11-26 22:19:13.615 VERBOSE m_pD3DDev->Present() failed
Error code : 80070578
ERROR_INVALID_WINDOW_HANDLE
n/a

The end result is the same. I have also tried this with the brand new installation and nVidia 7600gt card and had the same problem so I doubt it has anything to do with ATi.

I am attaching the logs from EVR crash. I appreciate any help I can get. I have tried virtually everything I could think of and I am out of ideas. Let me know if you need additional information.
