When I start PVRX2 I get a system memory error. As far as I know this is not an error specific to the application. The history is this.
I started getting the error message (see attachment) with pvrx2 and usbmate.exe. I ran a memory checker and fixed the hardware problem but I still got the error messages. Knowing it was not a valid error I "repaired" Win XP Home and managed to get rid of the message for usbmate but I can't seem to get rid of the one linked to pvrx2. The program is still usable on the PC as long as I leave the error message window intact, as clicking on the OK or continue buttons closes the app. All actions via the TV end of the system are OK. Whilst the system is still usable the error message is annoying and I would appreciate any help in finding it's source and removing it.

To be honest, I have no idea - its not an error I've come across before.

Thanks sub, is there any chance that reference to this might appear in a log somewhere on my PC that I can look at and try tracking it down from there. I am sure that it is a relic of a previous memory problem that may somehow be cached or similar. Other than that I guess a full uninstall-reinstall of gbpvr may solve it or even a fresh XP install although I shudder at the thought.

You can zip and attach the GB-PVR logs and I'll take a look, but I suspect it wont show the cause.

If you have a memory problem, then running some utility isnt going to fix it. It sounds like some general instability on your system, which is the likely cause of this problem you're seeing.

I have found and fixed the problem and thought that I would let you know for future reference.
The log pvrx2.exe shows the error being with USB-UIRT. I did a little research and checked my config to find that the remote control type setting was set to USB-UIRT. I changed this back to the default Hauppauge setting (although I do not have a remote) and the problem has gone away. I think I may have changed the setting when trying to set up a DVBT stick which has a remote which is not specified in the config options so it was a self-inflicted problem.
I doubt that anyone else will be as stupid as me but you never know.
Thanks
:o
