I just bought a Tul Powercolour Ati Theater 550 Pro card, and thought I'd use GB-PVR as according to reviews, the cyberlink software that comes with it is useless, and I already know how to use GB-PVR as my friend also uses it, so I'd rather go with something I'm familiar with anyway.
So I added the card to my system, which is:
Asus K8N with latest bios 1011.005 + 5.10 nForce3 drivers (5.11 was actually the last one made but those cause BSOD when trying to do anything with the integrated NIC - confirmed problem for many people, don't know why nvidiot left that as the last release with such a major problem)
Powercolour Radeon 9600XT Bravo (With ATi Rage Theater 200 onboard) Which I don't want to use as it's software encoding and uses way too much CPU. (Latest drivers for both Video and M200 also)
Sempron 64 2800+, 1GB ram, WD 250GB SATA HDD, and the usual stuff
So I put the 550 Pro in, installed latest drivers from ATi website (because the ones on the CD were very old)
Windows installed the card fine and everything appeared to be good.
Then I downloaded the latest version of GB-PVR from here, and installed that. And this is where everything goes bad.
On trying to add my 550 Pro as a capture source, GB-PVR config hangs for maybe 2 seconds and then just quits with no error, no error sound or anything.
This happens no matter if I select the 550 from the list or if I click 'detect only cards in my computer' (which then selects the 550 pro, so it knows it's there, then freeze, then quit)
I have tried the card in another computer and it worked fine in NeroVision so the tuner is not faulty or anything.
Would this point to driver issue? or what? can anyone can help me please?
