I'm a newbie to this. Is there anything special I need to do before installing the latest version? Do I just run the new *.msi file? Do I need to uninstall the old version 1st? Will it be like the very 1st time I installed v0.22 as far as going through the setup process or will all of my settings from the last version still be there? Sorry for the questions. Just wanted to get a good idea of what to expect.

I'm definitely looking forward to the latest goodies!

Thanks!

P.S.  Donating is so easy! I literally did a donation last night in less than 30 seconds. Lack of time is not an excuse for not donating to Sub! Just a little plug for the great work Sub has done.

The only thing I would recommend is makeing a backup copy of your gbpvr directory (c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr). That way if something goes wrong you can remove the new version and go back to the old one in few little time. Now you did pick a good time to update... this version is SOLID. (for me anyways)

Also, if you set costume recording quality settings in the Config app, you'll need to set them again (though I guess you'd want to edit them anyway now that you can set VBR) [Image: smile.gif]

What do most people set the VBR to?
Do you find yourself recording TV shows at one quality and movies on another? So far I haven't played around to determine the point at which I start seeing picture quality fall out / degradation. Any suggestions for custom settings and a good balance of compression vs. acceptable PQ? I have a 200 gig harddrive that is shared with the OS so I'm not too concerned about space.

Thanks!

i just stick to MQ at vbr (default settings) quality is great, im output via the pvr350 to a 47" hdtv tv and picture quality is flawless in that setting, so yeah thats good enough. on channels i get poor reception i usally use LQ thou. i only got a 120GB hdd and i never seem to run out of space these days, i have quite a few recordings stored. so yeah just stick with MQ default settings is my recommendation.

Installing the new release was as smooth as butter!
Love the new features Sub!!!!!!
Showed the wife how to get around and she seems happy as well.

Made my own groupings of features.
Installed some of the newer plugins: my pictures, X record...
Comskip is now working! Wooohoooo!

Couldn't be happier.

The only thing I noticed is that when I ffw live TV I lose the sound. If I skip backward and forward then I get it back. So not a big deal. I will just use the skip feature in order to not lose the sound.

One thing I have noticed is that I don't get a description of the TV recordings any more. Just the name. Is that a feature that can be enabled/disabled? Not a biggie if I can't. [Image: biggrin.gif]  [Image: smile.gif]  [Image: smile.gif]
