hi guys. i've written DVDs of my kids that i've burned back onto my hard drive and would love to watch them on my tv through gbpvr. If i could get it with the menus and everything, great! but even if it's just a playback from start to finish without menus, that would be wonderful too.
I tried to play the video_ts file through the video library option, but just found a .dvd file instead. on the tv, it did nothing. on the computer, it brought up the dvd main menu, but did nothing after that (and no audio). there are two ways to normally play video_ts files on my computer - through window's media center, and a VLC free download i downloaded.
Is there anything else i need to do to get these files to play on the computer? do i need a plugin? do i need to do some configuration? i tried to change the video decoder through the config to something other than 'system default' but there were no other choices, and it didn't let me browse. i'd love some suggestions, or a step by step guide to how to at least get these to work at least partially. I'd rather not have to convert the video_ts files to mpeg or other format if i dont' have to. if i have to, but there's some 'on the fly' conversion that can keep the details from me and allow me to 'effectively' play video_ts, then i'm all for that as well. any and all suggestions appreciated!!
