Hi, I have been running GB-PVR v 1.1.5 for a while now and all has been working ok. In the last day or so I have been unable to view LiveTV in either PVRX2 or GB-PVR . In PVRX2 I have had either no switching when livetv is selected from the menu or have just a black screen and nothing else. Using GB-PVR and trying the same usually results in the screen locking up so that I can't cancel and quit the program.

I have been testing with the various render options including EVR but nothing seen.

Also when I view the recording status window I see many more installed devices than I actually have and no actual status shown. I use just 1 Nova-T Dual 500 DVB so that would normally show as 2 devices.

I have spent quit a bit of time trying to fix this including searching here but have just got more confused as I went along. So a bit of help on this would be great.

Here's the screen grab of the Recording Status window

You'd typically get this behaviour if your recording service wasnt running, or if you got a software firewall on your machine that is getting in the way of communication between the various components.

I did a check with Comodo Firewall and afaics all the components of gbpvr/pvrx2 seemed to be set to allow, but when looking at the services in windows I did see that the recording service was not running although it was set to automatic. I clicked start and it did, but exited immediately with the following error window,

Was a GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log file created in the logs directory?

No it wasn't, the last log for that was on 12 Feb. Any others that might help track this down? I have log mode on debug with flushing enabled.

Do you have any other software on your machine that might be interfering with the service? Some software will stop services from being started or added to the machine.

There will probably be a message in the Windows Event Viewer indicating why the service is not starting.

Nothing that comes to mind, at least nothing new (in the virus/security software) that hadn't been running for ages that could cause this. The only thing I can think of is that I changed some of the settings in Comodo Firewall recently, but I can't see anything obvious.

It looks like you've ended up with an old version of one of the DLLs. Maybe try reinstalling all the patches form the survival guide thread. If that doesnt help, uninstall the app, delete the gbpvr directory, then reinstall.
