I have just installed 1.1.5 and found that after installation I set up the capture card and the EPG using a BDA Recording Plugin and a DVB EPG Broadcast source. The installation workedd perfectly and the EPG was updated and was visible in the guide.

I then configured the directories to reflect thte locations that I wish to use. I updated the following and changed from the default setiings;
Recordings Directory
Live TV Buffer Directory
Video Library Directories
Music Library Directories
Photo Library Directories

After this I tried to update the EPG and I experienced a problem with the update hanging on the first channel. It would count down the 60 secs and then stop and not change to the next channel. Subsequently the update failed.:mad:

The solution was found after many frustrating reinstallation of the package.

In the end it was the change of either the location for the following options from the default that caused the failure. I have left these as the default setting and al works fine. Maybe the authors can investigate this and correct in the next update as this option to change these and for EPG to continue to update would be quite useful.

Recordings Directory
Live TV Buffer Directory

I assume you're using the DVB-EPG option? If so then it makes a temporary recording while loading the EPG. If for whatever reason it was unable to make a recording in the directory you've specified as the recordings directory, then the EPG update will fail.

I just checked it now and I can update the EPG just fine here after changing these directories, so its just some to do with your setup. If you reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs then I'll take a look.

Thanks, Your are correct.

I was setting the Temp drive to a USB External Hard Drive and the power management of that drive was set to power saving mode after 5 minutes. I have turned the power saving mode off on the External hard Drive and all works fine.
