I'm trying to setup a PC as client but liveTV remains black. I see that a .ts file is created on server side when I select a channel. File is growing that should be ok. On client side the window goes black and nothing happens.

Looking at the pvrx2.exe-native.log I see that error message:

2008-04-01 21:34:28.859 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playVideoFile(~\\Zeta\Timeshift-VCR\Vor Ort - Die Reportage_2_20080401_21152145.ts)

and pvrx2.exe.log:

The client/server support is only designed to work with .mpg files. Its never been tested with .ts files, and I'm 99.9% sure it wont work.

Hi,
Been using GB-PVR on and off for quite a while now but only recently have I started messing with server/client setups.

Got myself a wireless MVP and am now trying to setup a client PC in my spare room, so I can watch TV while on PC as I have no aerial in here.

I setup all settings as per the wiki and various other posts I have seen while lurking, but all I get on the client is a blank screen when trying to watch live tv. The guide itslef works, but no picture.

I found this thread by serching the term "Unexpected error: System.Exception: Failure playing back file
at NativeUtilities.MediaHelper.playVideoFile" which was in one of my log files.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am stumped at the minute.

Thanks in advance guys.

I can't get liveTV to work from my client. The picture goes in slow motion.

Live TV is known to not work for clients trying to watch ATSC highdef channels.

Does it on SD also. It won't play it even if I start a recording and then try to watch it a few mins later..same thing, slo mo. I'm using ATI codecs and EVR if that makes a difference.

It should work on SD (assuming you're not using wireless), but you'll need to using a mux that produces .mpg files.

Hi,
OK, tried it again, client is setup for streaming as opposed to filesharing although neither are workingSad

The guide loads, I click a channel and my screen just goes black. I have deleted all my logs and attached the ones created when this happens.

Any pointers would be great, I'm sure it's something I've missed!!

Let me know what other info is needed.

Thanks
