Help! I have tried everything I can find here and nothing seems to work. No matter what I try my video "stutters" when I play it back. I have tried ALL of the following suggestions that I have found here:

- Tried every combination of Video and Audio Decoders I could come up with (when I use anything but the defaults it gets worse)
- Checked and my hard dirve is using DMA
- Replaced the quartz.dll file with the one I downloaded from here
- Turned FFDshow off

My system specs are (best I can remember, I am not at my puter):

Intel 2.14 GHZ
512 MB memory
Hauppauge PVR-150
Video - Raedeon ATI 32m

You may already know this, but when you restart your system, it does some stuff that's REAL taxing on the CPU for about 1 minute on fast systems and maybe 3-4 minutes on older ones. If you do tests with the different codecs during this time, you'll get bad results. Also, is it SD you have a problem with HD videos?

I would give overlay renderer a try and then EVR if that worked ok with the ATI AVIVO codec (you can get it from the ATI website - GBPVR refers to it as ATI MPEG decoder once you get it). But it sounds like there's something more going on. There's a new ATI video driver out too, like 1 week old or so.

Make sure you specify the driver for video and audio in GBPVR. I use AC3 audio and ATI Mpeg decoder for video with EVR renderer.

"Video - Raedeon ATI 32m"

Expand more on this. I expect this card will only be able to do Overlay

True, I wasn't familiar with that card either. Sounds like a laptop-ish card.

Sorry, I am not at my computer, but the best I can remember is that it is an ATI Radeon 32MB PCI card. It is not a laptop card.

That's a low amount of RAM for a video card. If you try a bunch of stuff with no success, I would consider a new video card. You don't have to go crazy, there are a few that are cheap and decent in AGP and PCIe forms.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive (cheap) pci card that will work with this?

the only pci card I can think of is the GEFORCE FX 5200 but unless you can get it really cheap, you might want to consider a system upgrade instead.
