I cleared out all scheduled recording, to clean this up
1- Clear logs
2- start tray icon, recording service, pvrx2
3- Go to guide, scroll to Monday, May 12 8pm, channel 278 DSC
4- Select Dirty Jobs, choose Record
5- Choose all in this weekly timeslot, this channel, select record

At this point, the on screen indicator shows that both the 8 and 9PM episodes of Dirty Jobs are set to record (they are back to back)…

6- escape to menu
7- Go Recording , recurring
8- It now indicates it will record from 6:30pm and 9:30 PM(???) (see 1.jpg in attach)
9- Select and enter, it now says 8-9pm will record (see 2.jpg in attachment)
10- In the guide, it still shows 8-10 recording, the back to back episodes of DJ

I’m at a loss.
Thanks

This is a normal part of the timeslot records. It'll look for shows that have the same name and start +/- 90 minutes of the original recording, ie 6:30pm and 9:30 PM. This to accommodate things like a show starting an hour late one week etc.

You can tweak the size of the timeslot, which defaults to +/-90 minutes, but I wouldnt recommend it, since this feature is actually very useful.

ok, makes sense.
The thing that got me worried is both the guide indicator (the red above) and SearchWiz2 indicate I am recording both 8 and 9pm episodes, then the first recurring screen says I'm recording some odd block, then going in shows I'm ok....
And only a few shows seem to exhibit this behavior.

Thanks a lot. I'll let it ride, and see what I get. As long as CSI records, the little lady will be happy (and I'll live another week!)

You probably are recording both the 8pm and 9pm episodes, since they have the same name as your season recording and they both start within the timeslot window 6:30pm and 9:30 PM.

If its a regular occurance, then you can reduce the <AllowableTimeslotVariance> setting in config.xml, and recreate the season recording, but as I said it'll mean it'll reduce its ability to cope with changes to the schedule.
