Switch order of capture devices

Is Config.exe the only way to set the default selection of capture devices for LiveTV and recordings? I am still in the process of setting up/tweaking this (great) program and, when testing/surfing, I want LiveTV to use the digital input of my HVR 1600 (to get/see HD QAM if available) - so the digital capture device needs to be listed second in the capture devices list (right?), but then I want GBVR to (default) to record with the digital input so the digital capture source needs to be first in the list. So maybe I just need to test/surf with one list order then use config.exe to change the order of the capture devices.

I am using the latest ver. of GBPVR on XP SP3

IIRC GB-PVR starts from the top of the list for recordings, and the bottom for live TV (but it may be the other way round). so what you said sounds correct.

it should be noted that the HD channels should be separate channels in your channel list, and when you select one of them it should always be going out the 1600.

i use duplicate sources so that my digitals are always selected when Either watching or viewing, but if they are all busy, then it uses the analog as a fallback...
[only needed if you have similar channels on both sources]
like:
digital1 [card 1 capture source#1]
analog [card 2 capture source#1]
digital1 [card 1 capture source#1]

so digital1 is both at the end *and* start of list..
[and is default for both watching and recording]
works fine, just setup both exactly the same...gbpvr will know when 'duplicate' is busy...

Clever. I will try that. I guess that means duplicating all the mappings too, but that should not be too much trouble.



Re HD being on diff channels, I have one SchedulesDirect lineup (analog?) So, I think i only have one set of channels. I'm new to GBPVR so I'm a bit confused on how to best handle analog and digital channels/schedules.

you just un-tick the ones that are not analog or not digital depending on the tuner
