LiveTV Channel Change

I created a YouTube video for someone on the NMT forums and I thought it would highlight the slower channel change of the NMT for MVP users

When you watch the video, the blue triangle comes up when I hit the channel up key, it goes blank when GBPVR says stop, and then there is the 8 second delay while the PCH player initializes before the actual buffering happens.

Of note these are two 1080i AC3 QAM channels down converted to SD as input to the same HVR 1600 card. So the MVP couldn't do this at all.

I've always tended to drop back to the guide and surf from there rather than just change channels - there just tends to be too many of them transmitting garbage ;(

I have noticed the PCH seems noticeably slower getting back to the guide when the stop key is pressed though.

So far, upsides still well outweighs downsides.

This is normal. When mvpmcx2 changes channels it doesn't open the GUI which takes a second or more (establishing HDMI etc), and then it takes GBPVR another second or two, and sometimes more to send an updated TV Guide screen.
