LiveTV stopping at end of file (NMT+NPVR)

Hi

Could someone help with this problem please?

I've just upgraded to NPVR with a PCHA100 as a client and am experiencing a problem with liveTV suddenly stopping and the guide reappearing. It looks like the recording service is starting a new buffer file and the NMT isn't able to 'jump' to the new file (this is a guess). Simply pressing play and the program resumes (no need to restart the service)

BTW: NMTinstall2 worked a charm downloading and installing all the pre-req software, NPVR and configuring the server ... cheers

Oops, I actually forgot to update NMTInstall.xml for .33 If you used it to get the updates, you will need to run the update piece again. Hopefully that is all the problem is.

thanks for the quick reply.

I re-ran NMTinstall2 and pulled down the updates; sadly LiveTV is still bombing out after a few minutes. The nrecord log appears to be complaining about something and then stopping the record (another guess)

Your logs still don't look like mine. Stop the recording service and remove these file in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\web\bin

NRecord.exe
Unmanaged.dll
NShared.dll

Then restart the recording service.

I had another thought, I forgot to tell you to delete the three zip files (nrecord, unmanaged, and nextpvr) from the mvpmc folder before doing the update.

All done. I've attached a file showing the file versions of the contents of the bin folder after the service was restarted (bin.txt), and the versions of the 'old' files (oldbin.txt)

After the restart LiveTV worked for a few minutes before stopping; logs attached.

A couple of other observations, which may help or hinder.

1. The LiveTv buffer directory is not being cleaned down (I'm manually having to delete old TS files from it).
2. skipping forward/backward on the PCH just results in the PCH replaying livetv from when the channel was started (it jumps to the beginning of the ts file).
3. The timeline, displayed when pressing 'info', is blank and seems to start with a negative number which increments.

Ok the versions seem ok now.

Is your T drive a share? If so can you try on a native drive?

A couple of other observations, which may help or hinder.

From my constant harping sub is well aware of this, it just not a priority.

2. skipping forward/backward on the PCH just results in the PCH replaying livetv from when the channel was started (it jumps to the beginning of the ts file).

Navigating in LiveTV is not yet supported because of the rolling file. Navigating in in-progress recordings is currently broken because NextPVR, but when sub gets back, I will explain the problem.

That's troubling but I use old style timelines so it might be something about the new style that sub would need to look into.

The T drive is a 80Gb SATA disk on the same PC as NPVR (I didn't want the C: drive to fill up).

As it turns out LiveTV stops for me now too, so another thing that I will bump for sub when he returns. There is trouble on switching the temporary files.

I just reverted NRecord.exe to the released .31 version (which I have 100% success recording and playing livetv with) and LiveTV has played fine for 50 minutes.
