Hi, this isn't strictly a GBPVR issue but I'm hoping that someone can suggest something. I have the following setup:

WinTV-HVR-1600
GBPVR 1.2.13
Motorolla DCT2224 Cable Box
Windows XP SP3

Last week everything was wonderful, as I wasn't using the Cable Box,
just old-fashioned analog cable. I'm now trying to switch to the Cable Box
using Hauppauge's IR Blaster to change channels.

The IR Blaster config utility works OK, I can successfully use it to change channels. However, I can't get WinTV 6 to actually show me any of
these channels, in particular it does NOT trigger the IR Blaster to change
the channels (I can see the cable box visually).

GBPVR on the other hand DOES successfully trigger IR Blaster to change channels. But the GBPVR Live TV option won't show me any video.
In the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log I get messages like the
following.

I have redownloaded the latest WinTV software, reinstalled, rebooted
all to no avail.

Ideas anyone?

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for your card? You can also run filtercheck to make sure the filter name didn't change.

Ok, I completely removed and reinstalled all the Hauppauge drivers
(http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/s...r1600.html)
but I still get the same symptoms.

I also ran FilterCheck.exe, the results appear OK (see the attached)
but I'm not 100% sure how to interpret everything.

In the end, the problem seems to be that my cable box output via analog cable can't be used as input to my WinTV 1600 card. This note on the vendor's web page implies that a composite cable will work:

http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/...r1600.html
Notes:

* For Analog TV reception, you need an analog cable TV connection. If you have a digital cable set top box or a satellite box, the WinTV-HVR-1600 can connect via either Composite or S-Video inputs. Channel changing will be done using the IR blaster.

I have an svideo cable hooked up to my HVR 1600 (composite is with an adapter to the svideo) for SD recording from a "digital" STB. Are you mixing up composite with component HD?

I was trying to use cable TV coaxial cable, this simply wouldn't work, all I got was static. I will need to switch to composite cables (RCA connectors) using
the svideo adaptor that came with my 1600 or get an svideo cable.
I am not trying to use analog component video cables.
