Hi all!

I´m looking for a nice software to use with my Media MVP, and found this...

But the thing is that i only run Linux Fedora Core boxes... no Windows in my home...

So, is there a Linux version of this software or does enyone know eny good ones?!

There is no (and will never be), a Linux version of GB-PVR. Try MythTV.org if you want a Linux based PVR. Might also be interested in this site: http://www.mvpmc.org

Better Linux servers for the MediaMVP (including PCH with mvpmcx2) are here:

Anyone tried to run gbpvr under linux using wine? Does Sub know a good reason why it should not work? Anyway, there's always WMWare, a virtual windows machine for Linux (and vice versa)... Smile

Search the forums for the word WINE - yes, somebody has tried it.

Running generic Windows user applications with WINE is pretty straight-forward. When you get to Directshow and much of the low-level stuff that's needed for handling TV capture cards, that's a different matter.

Cheers,
Brian

I don't think it runs under VMware either.

Have a look at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ght=vmware

Hard to say without trying it, Under WMWare you run a genuine Windows, so it may work. I'll b** try it when I get my new harddisk before I fill it up with movies and other stuff Wink Will report back once I know Big Grin
