MDAPI Filter Stability Issues

Hi,

I have previously posted about this but after another couple of months of fiddling about with things I still seem to be having major stability issues which I can only attribute to MDAPI filter.

I have used various version of the filter and various plugins but I still seem to be having these issues. My current setup is version 2.1.3 of the filter as posted by Heerfordt a few weeks ago, Along with Yankse and Snitch.

On a fresh boot, the filter will start up, load the plugins and everything will work. Sometimes, however, when changing channel, GBPVR will close. Opening up the app again, the filter will not load and TV will not start only a black screen will be shown but no notice to even say that the channel is encrypted. Only a reboot will allow TV to be started again.

Other times, when I have been previosly been watching TV, stop it and come back several hours later, I will not be able to load TV or the filter. Again I will get a black screen and nothing else, forcing me to reboot the machine to get things working again.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here as it is causing me no end of grief to get things working?

I can confirm these issues, I'm having the same troubles with my setup. Even more, recording also seems to be an issue, mdapi isn't loaded for some reason. I'm trying to get my finger behind the causes but haven't succeeded in doing so. I'm able to build mdapi myself so that helps somewhat. I'm in close contact to heerfordt in suggesting fixes to the code. These might not fix all issues though.

Even more, recording also seems to be an issue, mdapi isn't loaded for some reason.

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the other post mentioned but I do not think that this is relevant to me. I re-register the filters quite frequently but this problem is still there.

One thing that plays on my mind is that I previously had MediaPortal installed on this box and uninstalled it befrore installing GBPVR. Could not having this GBPVR installed on a clean machine cause any of these problems?

Also sub, if you could have a look at my logs attached to the first post and let me know if there is anything wrong it would be a greatly appreciated.

Sorry that post wasnt relevent to you. It was relevent to JePe though - JePe had specifically said it wasnt using the mdapi stuff during recordings, which was what was addressed in the other post.

The GB-PVR logs look fine with no sign of any problems. I cant understand the mdapifilter logs - you'd need someone that understands this logging information to interpret it.

Yeah I already had the patch applied. I tried reapplying it but it hasn't had any effect.

What do you mean? Are you asking if reinstalling the application will make any difference? I dont think it will. Its more likely that the problem is occurring within the mdapifilter than within GB-PVR itself.

Sorry if I was unclear. I just meant could the fact that I had a previous installation of MediaPortal cause any issues?

I dont know. I wouldnt think so, but maybe if it had overwritten some of the mdapifilter files.
