Hi,

In my ongoing saga to get GB-PVR QAM running, I've managed to finally get LiveTV working only to find that recordings don't work. I am doing in the clear QAM HD recording. I have disabled UAC (found this workaround in a forums search) and re-installed GB-PVR 1.2.13.

Vista Home Premium SP1 32-bit
Nvidia 8500GT 177.79
Realtek HD audio 2.00
ViXS PureTV-U 48B0 6.1.100.18
GB-PVR 1.2.13 with TSmon.ax patch

I get very small or 0kb recording files that don't playback. I have tried the ms-dvr, Cyberlink 1307 and 2022 bda muxes without success. The ms-dvr mux typically has two files of 300-400kb in size, and the Cyberlink files are 0kb.

I have attached copies of log files for perusal. Thanks for any suggestions.

I dont think this will be the cause of your recordings failing, but try running reregisterfilters.bat to see if it helps.

Sorry, I dont know then. In the logs it just looks like the device failed to lock on to a signal.

I tried using the Full TS option for BDA MUX and it ended up recording a 1.8 mb file that has a brief segment of video. Could this be a driver issue?

Make sure that <BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord> is set to "true" and <BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording> is set to "1" in config.xml

Try this it installs the ati avivo decoder on any videocard nvidia included. Then choose ati mux in bda settings. You can also goto install folder and create shortcut for AvivoXCode.exe and transcode files.32 only bat can be fixed for 64.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately, the ATI demux doesn't work either.

It works! Well, I only made one 1-hour recording, so it's only lightly tested. I already had the BDASumitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord to true, so I think the critical setting was BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording.

I ended up using dvr-ms demux as default, will go around and dutifully try the others over the next couple of days and report if anything is amiss.

Thanks whurlston!
