First of all, I have done my best to search through as many threads as I could before posting, but I haven't had much luck solving my problems.

My System:
XP Pro
Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard
Vista View 1n1-E
Georgia Tech Cable service (http://www.gtcn.gatech.edu)

I recently purchased the VistaView 1n1-E (the PCIe version). I installed the card, connected the cable line to the NTSC tuner, and installed the software from the CD. I also downloaded the QAM patch from VistaView's website and installed it as well (I had seen it posted on threads here). I went through the configuration, setting up the card as a digital non-QAM as well as a digital QAM card. I imported TV listings from MC2XML (it thankfully has an option for GT cable service), and allowed the program to search for digital channels (it didn't find any, GT has a couple HD channels, but I assume I would need to be plugged in to the ATSC jack to see them). It appeared to find all the regular (non-HD) channels, as it provided me a list and allowed me to enable/disable the channels I wanted (I left them all enabled).

I hit OK to get through the configuration screen, and pulled up PVRX2. When I click on Search Channels, no channels show up. When I click on guide, the times flash (i think yellow) for a second, then go grey and the program freezes up for a minute, after which it kicks me back out to the main menu. Clicking "Live TV" does nothing but refresh the menu, it won't allow me to watch anything.

Obviously I am new to all this, so I might be doing something stupid, but I would certainly appreciate any help you guys might be able to provide. If I need to attach any log files, let me know. Thanks!

Its hard to follow your description, but I dont think you did the mapping step. At the end of the channel scan you need to click the 'tuning request' column on the EPG channels (on the left of screen) and select the found channel it maps to. If you didnt do this, the channels would have been disabled.

First off, thank you very much for your speedy reply. I understand you don't really make any money doing this, so your help is greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry that my description wasn't clear, if there's anything I can do to help you better understand my situation, let me know. I did follow your instructions (I didn't know about having to do the channel mapping before) and mapped the first 9 channels (didn't want to map all 100+ yet). Live TV still isn't working, but I can successfully view the guide now. If I click on a show and then click "Watch TV", I see a black screen for a couple of seconds, then I am returned to the guide. I know the signal is good, since I can use the same coax cable on the TV, which is working. I think I am probably overlooking something simple (at least I hope so, I know this card isn't well like around here Smile), but I'm not sure quite what. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Edit config.xml located in your GPVR program folder and make sure the following entries match what I show here:

Code:
<[color=Blue]BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord[/color]>[color=Red]true[/color]<[color=blue]/BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord[/color]>
<[color=blue]BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnLivePreview[/color]>[color=red]true[/color]<[color=blue]/BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnLivePreview[/color]>
<[color=blue]BDASubmitTuningRequestAlways[/color]>[color=red]true[/color]<[color=blue]/BDASubmitTuningRequestAlways[/color]>
<[color=blue]BDADisableStatusChecks[/color]>[color=red]false[/color]<[color=blue]/BDADisableStatusChecks[/color]>
<[color=blue]BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording[/color]>[color=red]1[/color]<[color=blue]/BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording[/color]>

If they don't match, change them to match.
Use Notepad and not wordpad to edit the file.

whurlston, thanks for your advice, but I'm still not having any luck. The second and fifth lines you provided were different, but I changed them to how you have them and saved the file. I rebooted GBPVR, but still only saw a blank screen when I tried to watch TV.

I'm attaching my logs.

EDIT: These logs are from after I made the changes whurlston offered.

You havnt done the channel mapping correctly. It looks like you've mantually tried to enter the tuning info, rather than using the drop down to select the channel tuning requests from those channels found during the scan.

If you'd done it correctly these "T:2" etc tuning info should instead be a big long string information with frequencies and PIDs etc.

Delete your capture source and try recreating it, and pay particular attention to the mapping when you do the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step.

Yes, I manually entered the tuning info. From my understanding, I should see some sort of drop down box with channels I should select from for each channel. Since I didn't see any drop down box, I manually entered the data you saw.

I recreated my capture source, this time as a non-QAM card (which should I be using?). I still see no drop down boxes. When I click "Scan for Digital Channels", I get no results, every channel is "Strength: 0 Quality: 0". I assume that once I can get it to see channels here, I will see the drop down box you are talking about. I'm not sure why It doesn't find any channels here.

Yeah, you'd only see these drop down boxes, or be able to use your device in GB-PVR, if you can find channels during the scan.

I'm not sure why you're not finding any channels, but if redo the scan, then zip and attach your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log then I'll see if anything stands out in the logs.
