Hi,

I just bought an AnyTV USB ATSC/NTSC tuner, with video capture, off eBay and it worked great the very first time I installed the driver and BlazeDTV, the included TV-PVR software, but the second time I tried to run the BlazeTV program, it locked up my computer and no amount of reinstalls or upgrades changes that. Hence, my present interest in using GB-PVR. When I tried to run the latest version of GB-PVR, it asks what hardware I have and the AnyTV tuner is not on the list.

I looked at the Win XP Device Manager and it has drivers listed in the Sound, Video and Game controller section for Auvitek Dongle ATSC Capture Device and for an Auvitek Dongle ATSC Capture Device, and USB Audio Device.

How do I configure GB-PVR for my AnyTV tuner?

Thanks.

If you run FilterCheck.exe and zip and attach the resulting FilterCheck.log, we can create device entries for you. You will probably only be able to use the digital side of the device with GBPVR.

[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

It sure would have been nice if someone had bothered to put a link to filtercheck in a sticky at the top of this forum - I had to spend over half an hour trying to figure out how to do this on my own.

Anyway, hope this helps in figuring out how to configure my tuner. Thanks

According to that filtercheck.log, the only devices in your machine are a couple of Hauppauge devices, and no sign of any other devices.

Filtercheck.exe is installed with GB-PVR, and most posts that mention it say that, so I dont think it really needs a sticky.

Any progress on this? I just got an AnyTV USB tuner and want to use GB-PVR. Any instructions on how to get this tuner working? I'm willing to do some work to get it there.

The analog side of this device is unlikely to ever work with GB-PVR, but ATSC should work. Run filtercheck.exe and attach the filtercheck.log.

I'm not at a GB-PVR PC at the moment, but basically edit the bda.ini file. Copy one of the sections that has "TUNING_TYPE=ATSC", and replace the tuner and capture filter names with 'Auvitek Dongle Digital Tuner' and 'Auvitek Dongle Digital Capture' then try setting up a digital capture source. Name the section something like [AnyTV USB ATSC]

If it works, post the section here and I'll include it in the master file.

Add this to your bda.ini:

Code:
[AnyTV USB Digital Tuner]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=Auvitek Dongle Digital Tuner
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
FILTER_CAPTURE=Auvitek Dongle Digital Capture
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
