I've had a HVR2200 card which I've been playing around with for the last couple of weeks using Vista and a Asus M2A-VM motherboard.

I've not pretty much given up on this card as it's created a lot of stability issues with Vista including the major one - Vista will go into S3 sleep mode only one per reboot. If I come out of sleep mode there are some stability issues and the PC will hang if I try and go into sleep mode a 2nd time.

I've removed the card and things work great. I know the card isn't faulty so suspect my mobo (which certainly is a dog!) is having issues. Does anybody have any suggestions or ideas that might resolve this at all before I flick it off? I'd prefer to keep this over my Nova T 500 as channel changes were quicker but when nothing else works properly that's hardly a bonus!

i can't really help, but i did own an Asus VM motherboard (micro ATX, on board nvidia graphics/dvi port? - can't remember model number) which thankfully died before guarantee ended.

i bought a gigabyte board and haven't looked back since.

my m/b problems were numerous and got progressively worse using on board vga or not. is hard to troubleshoot when you have tv cards etc. plugged in to confuse issues.

i'd advise never to buy asus again!

interesting, I have recently had similar issues in that my PC hangs when entering sleep mode S3 (i believe with similar symptons to yours). I have been unable to identify the cause. I will attempt to run some tests later including removing the HVR2200 to see if I get similar results.

Stay tuned.

PS. I run XP PRO with a gigabyte motherboard

sorry, was not able to reproduce issue during test. The HVR-2200 seemed OK as I managed to go into sleep & wake 3 times after reboot without any problems. must be something else in my case.
