Analog PVR-250 After US goes Digital

Will I be able to use my PVR 250 when the US goes digital? I am using Comcast currently. They say that as long as I have cable, I will not need a converter box or a digital box. Will my PVR still work if it is directly connected to the cable coming into the house?

Yes. Cable companies are still using analog to homes in the US for at least 2 years (Cox says 3). You have no worries. Much of what's out there is doing nothing but confusing users anyway.

If you get your TV from an antenna on the roof, then you'll need a box.
If you get your TV from a cable running into the house, then your old PVR-250 will keep working forever....or at least until they "wire" your house for optical

reboot, that's not quite true. From what I understand Rogers here in the east has already stopped new accounts from getting analog only beyond the basics. They are also heavily promoting digital STB's to existing analog only users with those six month "deals". Once they reach a certain level I think 90% digital users the CRTC can allow the cutoff of analog over copper too.

Rogers does need this bandwidth for HD signals, so things will be interesting over the next few years.
