Here's what i have.

X2 4400+ with 2 HVR-1600
.net 3.5
Nod32
GBPVR 1.3.7
CCCP codecs installed.
Firewall Turned off

Recordings Folders: C:\Tv Files\Recordings
Tv Buffer File: C:\Tv Files\Buffer

This computer is called Brain, and will referred to as the server.

Intel 3.2
Gigabit LAN
GBPVR 1.3.7
CCCP codecs installed.
Firewall turned off

This computer is called living-room, and will be referred to as client.

Here's my problem:

I have the computer playing HD and SD smoothly on the server.

On the client:
If i go into recordings I can play HD and SD recordings with no problems.

The taskbar is slow but if i can get the recording service status up, it shows the default blank recorders and not what my server has.

I can see the EPG, but i cannot control it. If I set a show to record on the server I can tell it is recording on the client but I cannot cancel the recording from the client. If I try to watch a channel from the client, the server never gets the request so it times out.

When I set the recordings from the server and them play them on the client, HD works fine but SD jitters badly. I have applied the patch and moved the delay all the way to 4000 with no change. Once the recording is finished, playback is perfect.

I think that's it. I have not tried the PCH as these are enough issues for now.

Let me know what I need to do to get a good set of logs.

Did you set any exclusions in NOD32? I had problems with client-server setup. I fiddled with these settings in NOD32, but I couldn't get it to work. BUT a day later it works, maybe something to do with a reboot .......................I don't know.

The client needs to be named Pinky else you won't be able to take over the world. Big Grin

The patch and setting you're referring to, from the 1.3.7 survival thread, pertains only to time-shifted live tv using the TS-Mux. It won't have any effect on playing back a recording. I know that doesn't provide much help fixing your problem, but I wanted to let you know you're barking up the wrong tree there.

Are you using streaming or file sharing? Streaming has been safest in the past on my machine, but you need to be recording to mpeg format (cyberlink mux) and not dvrms or .ts.

If you need to use filesharing can you access and play video files over the network with WMP?

As for being able to see the EPG but not modify it, have you checked the share permissions on the server to allow users to modify files. Can you access server\gbpvr over the network and read / save / move files around in windows explorer?

I was going to say the same thing regarding permissions, as far as I know you need to give full read/write permissions to the gbpvr directory on the server

That solved my problems when I first set up a client.

I have now disabled nod32's firewall (exceptions did nothing, probably my fault)

and made sure that all folders are write accessible.

I can now control the EPG from client computers(livetv, start recordings, watch recordings.)

Hd works fairly well, if i pause it, it doesn't like to unpause but that's okay.

SD is crazy jittery. I works fine on the client computers with vlc, just not in pvrx2.

Could this be a codec or Mux problem?

I have not added any muxes other than what comes with gbpvr.
Is KLite better than CCCP for this application?

What is it like with WMP? VLC uses it's own internal decoders.

Unfortunately WMP give me an unexpected error when trying to play a file that is being recorded. I am going to update WMP and reregister the filters in CCCP.

Anything else I can try?

Also, as this happens on multiple computers, could this be a mux problem?
Not sure what my PCH does, but i can check at lunch.
