Capture Source Disapearing

Hi,

I have had GBPVR v0.97 installed & running fine for ages with no problems. I don't use an EPG and only use the S-VHS input on my Hauppauge PVR150 to copy programs from my satellite STB / HDD recorder.

Anyway, I have had to re-install my HTPC and thought I'd install the latest GBPVR version (1.3.7). I now have that installed ok but am having trouble setting up the capture source. When I go into Capture Sources and add the PVT150 device with NONE slected for EPG source (the same settings I had in v0.97), I don't get the option to add any channels & if I then close the config application and then go back into it, my newly created capture source has dissapeared.

Am I doing something wrong as it has been a long time since I originally setup the system. Any help would be welcome.

I've just done some more searching in the forums and I've found a post in July 2008 from myself basically saying the same thing where I tried to upgrade from 0.97.7 to 1.2.13 and had the same problem. To be honest I had completely forgotten about it. Anyway, you suggested that it may be due to the videocard not being up to the task for the later PVRX2 which is probably why I am still running 0.97.7

Would you be able to confirm this from the logs I posted one way or the other.

If that is the case then it looks like I'll have to upgrade my videocard. However, in the short term I'll just go back to 0.97.7

It looks like it failing to update your v0.97 database to v1.3.7. You could try running the ChangeDatabase utility to switch to the SQLite database that everyone else is using, instead of the really old MDB database you're currently using.

I've done as you suggested and it has now taken the capture card settings and allowed me to add the S-VHS channel.

So far so good.
