I have the Media Center Remote and dongle for my HP Pavillion but am running XP Home not MCE. The remote is rectangular and doesn't even look like the ones pictured. Is there a way to get them to work with GBPVR? Maybe I've missed it in the posts but any help would be appreciated.

If it doesnt work with the remote type set to MCE in the config app, then you'll probably need to look into using some third party software like HIP or EventGhost.

it sounds like you've got the Vista version MCE remote...or some oems [Sony, etc] make their own remotes to go with mce beanbag so they don't always look the same but usually function same...should have same buttons plus a few extras...but doesn't use the same codes for everything...so may have to use hip for full functionality..

basic stuff should work if there's a driver loaded...[usually on wincd, search for irbus.inf & .sys]
like play/pause,stop,up/dn,etc..

there's also an 'alternate' driver that can use any remote, but must be used with HIP..
[should be on HIP site or a link at least]

Right now I don't even have the IR beanbag working. What settings do I need to go through to get that functioning properly? I see it in my Hardware config but don't have drivers for it as far as I know since I'm running XP Home.

here's a link to the driver...
usually Win drv can be found on xp pro or mce cd, but also may be on xp home cd,just not installed...search for irbus.inf & irbus.sys

if found, put irbus.sys in windows dir in system32\drivers\ and the irbus.inf into windows dir under \inf\ then try to redetect...

if you can't find one, [real win driver really is best]
try this one..

is has instructions inside i believe..[basically same]
