How do I install MCE remote using eventghost?

I am trying to get my microsoft 2005 MCE remote to work with GBPVR. I am trying to follow the instructions found at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/EventGhost.

It says the file "MCE 2005 remote configuration file" will assign keystrokes to the remote buttons. When I run this file it opens in windows explorer and I get a window full of info about commands???????

Did you try to doubleclick the file from explorer or are you opening the file from within eventghost? I placed the gbpvr.xml file in a directory and then opened it from within eventghost. It then brought up a set of commands that had already been mapped for gbpvr. Most of them have to be changed because it is pointing to the old gbpvr.exe instead of the new pvrx2.exe. You will have to manually change all of the commands you want to use. If using XP you will have to use the replacement driver first that is listed on that page. If using vista you will have to find a vista replacement driver. I was able to find it on the mediaportal forums. Sorry I'm away from my home computer and can't exactly remember where I got it. After that just point the remote at the ir receiver and map the buttons to your preference.
