is there a way for me to have access to the config on the server with out going to the server. so if the server is hooked up to my tv via the svid i could log in from the client and adjust the server configuration.

You can use VNC on the server.

Make sure if you do install VNC (and if using XP) turn off the VNC softwares hook drive/mirror driver. By doing this you will be able to see the pvr user interface (and videos)

UltraVNC or WinVNC or TightVNC are the most popular

you can just open and edit the config.xml file from a laptop or whatever on your network
setting doesnt take affect till you close and reopen pvrx2.exe(gbpvr)
i do this often for trying different settings so if recording the recording service doesnt get restarted which causes the recordings to be restarted

I think I understand what he wants . . .

Right now if you open the config program it opens the config.xml in the gbpvr directory.

I think he would like an option such that if you open the config it will ask if you want to open the default config or another one residing in a different directory - that way he could use the config program on his current machine and pull the config.xml file for the remote machine through the network.

I personally wouldn't want to be bothered with having to choose each time, but perhaps the option could be setup such that you could enter the path to the remote one and have it stored and then have a command line option to choose the remote config . . . i.e. config.exe /remote.
