I've got my 2250 up and running and showing all my local QAM channels in WinTV. (BTW i'm using it for analog cable and clear QAM)
After my initial attempt to setup GBPVR 1.3.11, I set up 4 capture devices Analog 1 and 2 (device numbers 1 and 2)

Question: I have only one 2250 installed and when i add an analog device and check the "show only installed tuner" box it shows that I have the 2200 also, is this the analog part of the device or do they just both show up?

I am using MC2XML to scrape from titantv and the channels show up correctly. However I thought there would be some sort of scan so I haven't checked to see if the analog channels were coming through ok.

And I setup the other two... QAM 1 and 2 (capture devices 1 and 2).

When i attempt the mapping it doesn't find any QAM channels. Any ideas why?
Also, I used the same xmltv file, thinking i would map the channels to the corresponding analog scheduling data, is this a correct assumption? if not, where do i get QAM data or is there any way to attach guide data from one channel to another? If so, how do I map the data to schedule my HD or digital recordings?

I have tried reading some threads about setting up the 2250 and other devices but most seem to be using older versions of GBPVR.
so i wanted to get it straight.

Thanks in advance,
cdg

Post your logs - you'll get better answers.

On the question about XML files - you want all the channels that your source receives in the XML file associated with that source and none that it doesn't receive. If you have multiple sources, then for each source, decide if it gets the same channels as another source. If yes - then use the same XML file. If no, I always set up a separate XML file.

at work now, working hard, obviously...
can try to post the logs tonight i guess, where to i find them?
is there a way to clear them, then run the scan so you can see exactly what you need?

Anyone else got ideas without the logs? or any recommended reading (for while i'm not working at work)

Ok, so i'll use the cox cable xmltv file for my 2 analog tuners
but i don't see any QAM listings, should i used the OTA digital listing?
can i map the channels correctly?

Thanks

See http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=16767 for the location of the log files. Just run a scan and then post the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log

Also, make sure that you have installed all the patches from the survival thread stickied in this forum.

They clear and reset automatically. The last few are kept - renamed with an added digit.

Whurlston is great with QAM problems :-) Search on qam.ini and his qam ini manager for background.

You said you were using TitanTV - I've never used that option. I get good results for my QAM cable listings from MC2XML by selecting digital cable for my source. QAM is available with an analog cable subscription, but the listings are with the digital cable data. Since the digital stuff is mostly encrypted, I use the MC2XML channel option to limit my data to only the QAM unencrypted channels I can tune (HVR-1600).

Good call, I didn't think about that. The QAM.ini Manager can be found at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=38408 and basically sets GBPVR to use alternate frequencies for QAM.

By default, MC2XML accesses the same data (from Zap2it) as Windows Media Center, and that's how I use it. I actually own and run Media Center 2005 as my OS so I don't feel guilty about using MC2XML. I used to run Whurlston's program MCE2XMLEPGXMLTVORSOMEOTHER ACRONYMIVEFORGOTTEN.EXE, which picked up the data from the local hard disk after Media Center retrieved it. MC2XML data is identical to what I used to pull.

Schedules Direct is supported by GBPVR, so you don't need MC2XML.

I vaguely recall that titanTV was for OTA listings, but my OTA listings are in the default data from MC2XML, so I've never checked it out.

Don't feel too bad, your post caused me to go back to the MC2XML page. I didn't know they added support for Schedules Direct, so I learned something.
