I have installed v1.3.11 on both client and server. The client is a laptop communicating wirelessly to the server. The client is configured with the "Streaming" option.

On the client I can browse the TV Guide and Recordings fine. But when I attempt to PLAY a recording, the screen goes blank for about 1 second, then returns to the Recordings screen.

Similarly for Live TV, the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds, then returns to the Main Menu.

On the client I have network mapped the server GBPVR, Recordings and LiveTV directories and can browse these ok.

I ran a test on the client where I started PVRX2, attempted to play a recording, then closed PVRX2. I have attached the client and server logs for analysis.

Any help appreciated.

You're running in streaming mode, but trying to read a .ts file. Last I checked .ts only works with File Sharing mode. Sub has done some work on making .ts work in Streaming mode, and there is a patch floating around that allows partial functionality. But you're better off using File Sharing at least until 1.4 comes out (not that I know anything specific about .ts and streaming in 1.4, but if sub's recent work on that has born fruit then 1.4 is where you'll see it).

Thanks, switched to File Sharing and it works ok.

Streaming should work for Live TV though shouldn't it? That was having the same problem.

One thing I noticed when playing .TS recordings on the client using File Sharing mode, they all start playing at 2x speed. I have to pause then un-pause to get the correct playback speed. I'm yet to play around with the playback settings for this issue, but thought I'd mention it in case it's a known issue.

Nope, streaming doesn't work for either one with ts. Playing LiveTV from a client works in timeshift mode, so a .ts file is still created on the server which the client has to read.

BTW, the 'very beta' patch to enable .ts streaming is in post 10 of this thread (along with sub's comments in other posts):
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=41092

However, that original version has a serious memory leak which is fixed here:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=41201

Those versions of the .ts reader are older than what's posted in the survival guide though, and I have no idea if the latest version includes the .ts streaming fixes or not (I'd guess it does, but only sub can say). Personally I'm inclined to wait for 1.4.

I've not seen it with any of my clients, though I have had recordings playing directly on the server jump to 2x+ speed in response to some sort of glitch in the transport stream (but never anywhere near the beginning so that I can cut a chunk and upload it for sub to have a look at... arg!)

You should have the PsiParser and GBPVRTSMon from post 8 of the Survival Guide (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=40303) and GBPVRTSReader from post 9 installed on both the client and server, just to be sure.
