Hi, I've spent quite a few hours trying to get my HVR-2200 card to work with time shifting and recording of DVB channels, but have not had any success yet.
I get audio but no picture. In Live TV I get picture, but when I unslect the option in the Misc tab for Use live preview mode if possible, I get no picture.
After reading lots on here it looks like I don't have the correct Mux installed.

The Hauppauge WinTV app supplied with the card works for both time shifting and recording, but not in GBPVR.
I'm running Windows XP. I have run Muxchecker and it says there are no Mux's installed.

Does the HVR-2200 use a BDA Mux that I should be able to see with the Mux Checker?
Where do I download the correct Mux from?
Thanks

if using dvbt in nz
you need power dvd8 or similar h264 decoder(this is what you are missing )
check to see what you have in config (advanced playback)for playback
and mongram for the sound (although tv3 uses both aac ac3 for sound)
the mux is used for dvb-s not dvb-t in nz

select tsmux in misc2 tab

This is DVB-T reception. I have installed PowerDVD 8 and have the H.264 registered and have selected that. Now when I select live TV (with Preview mode off) it goes to a black screen for a few seconds then just returns to the menu.
Mpeg-2 playback - Video Decoder = Cyberlink Video / SP Decoder (PDVD8)
Audio Decoder = Cyberlink Audio Decoder (PDVD8)
Advanced Codec
H.264 = Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8)

I don't understand why it's so difficult to setup one of the most common tuner cards? There must be something simple that I'm missing here.

get recording going first rather than live tv
what happens when you do a recording
does it produce a file
have set your recording directory to something that actually exists (i think its set to temp by default)

make sure you have applied all patches from the survival guide
also try doing a recording then zip and post your logs(found in the gbpvr folder)

Getting the PowerDVD codec properly registered, and then rebooting I think. The reboot was the key, although I tried lots of things before rebooting, so not 100% sure.
I'm now having trouble trying to get a client to find the server. I can ping the server, I've turned firewalls off on both computers. At one stage yesterday it did connect, but I cannot get it to find the server again. I'm running a small home network using windows file sharing with the ADSL router having a built in 4 port 100MBps router. If the firewall is off then there's no ports to open. The computer can easily be seen by windows file explorer. I am running Nod32 on the server and AVG on the client.
Where do I start looking to resolve this.
Thanks

What OS are you running for both

if vista, you might want to check your setting regarding filesharing and network discovery

make sure you have the right name of the server i normally use the same name for everything
also check you have shared the devnz folder and check you can get to the dvb3 file inside the gbpvr folder (allow network users to change these files)
also use the same log in name on both machines
here is a link to auto log in use the userpaswords2 is the easiest way half way down the page
