Yhis post may be better suited for the Wishlist, but it may be possible...
I have a movie in mkv-format with embedded subtitle (english). But I also have a srt-file in Swedish.
So now both subtitles is showing!
When I play DVD, I can switch subs with the yellow button. But nothing happens in this movie.

Is there a way to turn off the embedded sub, sub (sorry, I couldn't help it Smile )?

The item for the wishlist would be to be able to change between embedded and external subtitles with the press of a button (i.e yellow)

(This would be helpful for divx-movies as well. In some cases I have double sets of subs, both Swedish and English. I have to rename one of them to get the one I want to show.)

There isnt currently a way to do this.

What is currently showing your subtitles? The haali splitter? I'm not aware of any programmatic interfaces GB-PVR can use to control its subtitles. If I was, I'd add support for it.

Yes, the Haali splitter shows the srt-subtitles for .mkv
But I have no idea how the embedded text is handled.
In VLC I get two selections for subtitles, the embedded one and the srt. I can select which one I want to use. I have not tried it in Media Player Classic yet though, but I guess that one uses more of the similar settings as gbpvr, right?

If you have subtitles embeded in the video, then you're not going to be able to turn off, ie its part of the picture. Unless you're talking about something else.

For me to be able to control the subtitles Haali is showing, I'd have to find some API documentation on how to programmatically control Haali subtitles. I've couldnt see this information on their website.

I just remove them from the file using mkvmerge.

They are embedded in the file but not in the picture, so I can switch between None/English/Swedish in VLC.

Thanks for the tip Capone, I'll use that.
