Hi, I have a puzzling little problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I have been using GBPVR 1.0.8 for over a year and have had no trouble with it, until now. Recently I set up a recurring record schedule for a show for my daughter - Sesame Street. I have it set up to record all episodes on the channel (it comes on twice a day). The first weird thing is that the show does not appear red in the TV guide listings, indicating that it is set to be recorded. The second weird thing is that the show comes on twice a day, and my machine fails to record every time. It does not show up as a failed recording, but just does not show up at all. The third weird thing is that I can record the show manually - that is, tell it to record once and it will turn red in the listings and record perfectly. The fourth weird thing - Sesame Street comes on two different channels at different times and it behaves this way no matter what channel I try to record it on.

I have tried erasing the recurring scheduling and reprogramming it. That doesn't seem to work. All of my other recurring programs are working just fine. It seems that my pvr simply does not want my daughter to watch Elmo.

Thanks for any suggestions.

We don't have the facility on the UK, but do you have "do not record duplicates" turned on? (there is a command line argument to remove the duplicate data, but I don't know it offhand).

posting logs with a date/time/name of a failing show helps.

Thanks for the reply. To answer your questions:

Quote:do you have "do not record duplicates" turned on?

Yes, I do, although I am not sure how this applies to my problem (it is not pulling in any episodes, let alone dups).

Quote:posting logs with a date/time/name of a failing show helps.

I don't think this is possible because it does not show up as a failed recording. It just skips over the show completely, as if it never knew it was supposed to record it (even though there is an entry under "reoccuring" recordings).

Thanks...

Hit 'update epg' in the system screen, then zip and attach the complete set of logs and I'll take a look.

Not out of disk space?

Nope, plenty of disk space left.

Here are my logs. Note that any episodes of Sesame Street that I have are only there because I manually recorded them.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry - I did it through the config app. This time I did it through the system screen.

Thanks.

I did see this in your log:
Quote:2009-06-02 14:37:18.266 VERBOSE [9] Loading XMLTV File: C:\Program Files\zap2xml\xmltv.xml
2009-06-02 14:37:18.266 ERROR [9] XMLTV: error reading xml: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\zap2xml\xmltv.xml'.
2009-06-02 14:37:18.266 VERBOSE [9] About to return final XMLTV channel list. Count = 0
2009-06-02 14:37:18.266 VERBOSE [9] Loading XMLTV File: C:\Program Files\zap2xml\xmltv.xml
2009-06-02 14:37:18.266 ERROR [9] XMLTV: error reading xml: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\zap2xml\xmltv.xml'.
It looks like your capture sources are pointing to xmltv file that doesnt exist.

Hmm...that is interesting. Seems that my system was set to update the EPG last night and only one of two batch files executed for some reason (erased old EPG, but failed to set up the new one). I resolved it manually and will see if that does anything to help the situation. Thanks.
