Will 500 MCE Remote work With XP Home?

Hi,

I've got a dual Hauppauge 500mce system that I am running on a standard MS XP home edition. Everything works pretty except the remote which I can not get to work at all. Does anyone have a tip or a suggestion to get this to work or am I just screwed?
