I have to use a capture card to get any channel above 60. So I have a PVR-150 with a blaster connected to the STB and a second card (averymedia dual tuner) just attached dirrectly to the cable (no STB). My thought was I could schedule recordings on the higher channels on the PVR-150 and still have bandwidth to record other channels from the lower band on the other tuner. So I have set up two schedules on schedules direct. The first has only the lower band channels and is set on the averymedia board(s) the second includes all channels and is set on the PVR-150. I installed the avery card 1st thinking that would make it the prefered tuner but that does not seem to have worked. Anyone have any suggestions on how I set the prefered tuner for recording and/or live tv? I searched thru the forum (man there are a lot of posts. But could not find anything related. If you have seen one I would appreciate a link.

GBPVR uses tuners for recording from the top down in the list in the Capture Sources tab. For Live TV it uses tuners from the bottom up.

For recording or Live, it uses the first available tuner (going down or up) that is mapped to the required channel.

You can kick the tuner sources up and down by highlighting one and using the up/down buttons - mysteriously blank buttons they are though, missing the up/down arrows

Thanks -- the blank buttons did the trick :-) Now I can have the one with the STB as the Middle Tuner so that it is always checked last :-) --- Much Grass

Thanks for answering this - and it definitely works. I don't understand, however, why it works like this? Wonder if sub can comment.

Mainly - my situation is currently I have two cards (pvr 1600 and a pvr 150). Wouldn't it make sense for the system to prioritize HD viewing in both situations - or more importanly, let you rank the cards (as you can now) w/ their preference for both Live and Recording?

I would like to have my system select HD for live (if not recording)... but I would also like it to record in HD in first preference as well (if available).

any ideas?

Make another source, identical to the HD source at the top and put it at the bottom. It will then use HD for viewing, unless recording.
