Had reports on a A110 that AAC works after getting the new firmware.

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?for...o=1#270786

Guess I'll try my A100. Any thoughts Martin?

It certainly doesn't work for me. My first thought is he could be using DVRMSToolbox to convert WTV files to a PCH compatible standard it does the transcoding for him. My vlc command line does do a reasonably good job too, the lip sync seems correct on the four files I have, and it is fast enough for on-the-fly transcoding.

hmm weird, I'll get it down and try anyway, but i wasn't holding breath since you would have mentioned it during beta.

Nothing else in that firmware i should be aware of?

I haven't posted anything about upgrading the A110 since although it worked fine for me I noted that a GBPVR users dave.t posted on the NMT forum that he couldn't get apps to install and since he wasn't alone I thought I'd wait. The apps did install fine on my A100

@psycik, I read the replay on the geekzone.nz thread and there is on-the-fly transcoding going on, so if sub is interested it can be done with gbpvr too. Alternatively once Win 7 is more established I could see about playing AAC files using the updated Win 7 UPnP server although it would be with mono again.

If you are interested in testing I've modified the Web Radio plugin to transcode HE-AAC files on the fly with vlc all in gbpvr

My W7 MCE plays GBPVR recorded .ts files fine.

Sure if you'd like.

1. Download and install my light installer for Web Radio http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugi...eSetup.zip

2. Download the UbuRecordingService to transcode for the NMT/MVP http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugi...eSetup.zip

3. Download and install the msi VLC installer http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Once you get Web Radio running, I'll walk you through a he-aac decode test.

Thanks,

Martin
