I just wiped my working xp install to switch to W7 X64 and I'm having some problems. I am getting some recordings 0 length with ts mux and can't play back DVRMS files in GBPVR although they play back fine in windows media player. I've tried Cyberlink, Mainconcept HCW, DTVDVD and system default playback codec. I'm using ffdshow for sound as that's what has always worked with this pc in the past although I did try setting it to system default.

Reproduce the problem and zip and post your logs.

That's a known problem with the GB-PVR Flow Status filter, see here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=43724

The solution is either to de-register the GB-PVR Flow Status filter, or set your video decoders to System Default (and of course make sure the default decoder is the one you want).

Either way, you will lose Auto Aspect Ratio control.

I don't know if sub has been able to fix this for the next release or not; as documented in the linked thread, he said he could fix it but it would take more doing than he had time for then.

I just checked and I can play DVRMS files that I made with XP but not the ones made with W7 like the linked thread. TS is not an option since it's very unreliable for me, I often get files that won't play and won't work with comskip but DVRMS is almost 100% reliable. I've attached the logs after playing a few seconds of an XP made file and then trying to play a short recording I made this afternoon that won't play. How do I deregister the filter mentioned in the above link? I'll try about anything at this point, I've already wasted 2 days trying to get it working.

In the past I've not been able to get an MPG mux to keep sync with XP. I might try it again and see if it works better in W7 but I'd really like to get DVRMS working again. The file size and quality of DVRMS is nice.

to unregister the gb-pvr flow status filter, just run:

Code:
regsvr32 /s /u GBPVRFlowStatus.ax

to re-register, it's simplest to just run the 're-registerfilters.bat' from the gbpvr program directory.

Unregistering the filter breaks live tv so that won't work either. I was able to play the recording I made earlier that I couldn't watch but I scheduled another recording and all I got was an empty folder. I don't understand why the file won't play in gbpvr when it will play in WMP. I've set everything back for now and am seriously considering yanking my cards and giving up. I need the pc for other stuff so going back to xp isn't really an option and if I can't record I don't need the tuner cards. This is my second attempt at getting W7 working and it's failing like the last try.

Now the TS files I record won't play either. I reregistered the filters and they all showed succesfull, I'm just lost. Trying to play a ts file I recorded just kicks me back to the menu but the recording is in the folder.

Reproduce this and post the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll see if anything stands out.
