Just a quick update: I found that with the ir receiver plugged into one tuner card i got direction buttons only, when it was plugged into the other card i got all functions when ir.exe was installed. I did have a play round with the hauppauge ir key in the registry but didn't have time for an in-depth test.
So now with ir.exe running i do get all remote buttons working and will try putting it into the run key - then searching the forum to get it to work when coming out of hibernate.
If Sub reads this it'd be great to know what native support for the Hauppauge remote GBPVR provides as some buttons did work but not all.
At the moment the machine boots straight into PVRX2 and is working as the sole TV provider with a high WAF (until i mess something up!).
Cheers, andy.
AFAIK, gbpvr does not have any native support for the 45-button remote on the nova-t. It just accepts the input from ir.exe as keyboard input.
However (FYI), the nova-t can sendremote signals to the pc without ir.exe running. (press the power button without ir.exe running will annoyingly send pc to sleep)
In a multi-tuner setup, the remote only works in something like the last tuner installed. I can't rememer exactly. There is an old thread about this on the hauppague uk forum.
I had loads of problems with ir.exe not waking up from sleep. I rolled my own version of liteswaps start_pvrx2 utlity to kill and restart ir.exe upon resume. You can also do the same by using gbpvrwake.exe and wake.cmd.
