How is list of available decoders populated?

NPVR 2.2.6 on Windows XP
I have just installed PowerDVD 11, and went to try it as the H264 video decoder in NPVR, but it doesn't appear in the drop-down menu for H264 decoders. PDVD10 is still there (as expected as it is still installed), listed as "CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD10)".
If I understood how these decoders get onto that list, it might help me understand why PDVD11 isn't there, and how to get it in there.

Directshow provides an API for applications to query the system for decoders that support a specific media type. If your PowerDVD 11 decoder isnt in the list, then it mustn't be advertising to the system that it supports that media type.

The Cyberlink filters are not always registered when installing PowerDVD. PowerDVD calls them directly so it's not an issue for them. Try manually registering the filters and they should show up in the list in NextPVR.

Thanks, I ran:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD11\Common\VideoFilter\CLCvd.ax"
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD11\Common\AudioFilter\Claud.ax"
And then saw PDVD11 decoders for H.264, MPEG2, MPEG1, AC3 and AAC
It remains to be seen whether they are any better than the 10 versions.
